Picking up right where the original Halloween () left off, Halloween II () promises "MORE of the night HE came home." Of course, more of the same is all it really gives us, just in higher doses. Michael Myers continues his Halloween night killing spree (this time with more blood), while Laurie Strode is taken to Haddonfield Hospital with Michael right on her trail. Halloween II arrives on Blu-ray in an excellent widescreen AVC encoded p high definition transfer from Shout! Factory that looks pretty damn close to the transfer that Universal used for their release of the movie last year but it appears to have a bit less print damage, though some very minor specks pop up here and there.

Now the reason why I gave 3 stars is that when I read this book I must have been 12 or 13 and hadn't read that much so the book appeared to be alright, but then I read the first Halloween Night and was completely blown away, putting Halloween Night 2 in a much lower ranking than I had before/5(6).

In many ways, this is a rerun of the first becoming friends with Brenda in the end of Halloween Night and promising to be a nicer person, Halley's turned into a brat again and is doing exactly the same things as in the first book, including stealing Brenda's boyfriend Jake - despite the fact that she's already dating Ted, the guy she seduced away from Brenda last time/5(54).

"Halloween Night II" takes place the following Halloween after "Halloween Night". Brenda, the main character, has two best friends, Traci and Angela.

(Traci and Dina were her two best friends in the first book.) Brenda's cousin, Halley, still lives with Brenda, and is still a pest; Brenda's parents are still very unsensitive to Brenda's /5(5).

Halloween II's author, Jack Martin (pseudonym of Dennis Etchison), continues that trend, and can't be blamed for doing so. A novel is a very different animal to a film; it doesn't have any visceral tricks like music and fake blood to rely on, so must succeed on the strength of its story.

Succeed Halloween II does/5(18). "Halloween Night II" takes place the following Halloween after "Halloween Night".
